How Johnny and Hansel Publications is Innovating Education for the Next Generation

As the world of EdTch is evolving, where learners nowadays are perceived to navigate complex challenges to seize digital opportunities, education must adapt—not just incrementally, but transformatively. At Johnny and Hansel Publications, we’ve made it our mission to lead this transformation through powerful stories, inclusive learning solutions, and a commitment to future-ready education.

One key step forward in this journey is the integration of the Standardized Tools for Assessment and Mentoring Program (STAMP) — a structured, data-informed, and human-centered approach to evaluating learning and guiding both teachers and students toward success.

Storytelling That Shapes Minds and Hearts

From tales like  “May Bagong Ilaw ang Aming Tahanan” and “Si Miguel at ang Mahiwagang Parol” to new titles under development, Johnny and Hansel crafts stories that reflect Filipino values, inspire imagination, and now — with STAMP — align with measurable learning competencies.

Each book is now embedded with formative checkpoints and comprehension maps, helping teachers track understanding while nurturing the learner’s voice and creativity.

What is STAMP?

STAMP (Standardized Tools for Assessment and Mentoring Program) is a Johnny and Hansel innovation that provides:

  • Pre- and post-assessment tools aligned with DepEd’s Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs)
  • Rubric-based evaluation for reading comprehension, critical thinking, and reflective writing
  • Mentoring templates for teachers to track progress and give individualized support
  • Digital dashboards that summarize class and individual performance
“With STAMP, I no longer have to guess if my students are learning—I can see it clearly and intervene early.” – Ms. Liza, Grade 4 Teacher, Quezon Province

Learning Beyond the Page: Our EdTech Integration

Our future educational books will be  enhanced with interactive features—including AR content, QR-linked modules, and STAMP-compatible assessment tools. These features provide teachers with instant analytics, while giving students instant engagement.

Imagine a child reading a story, answering STAMP questions right from their devices, and receiving instant feedback — while the teacher sees trends and pinpoints learning gaps in real-time.

Empowering Teachers through Mentorship

Teachers are no longer just content deliverers—they are mentors and learning architects. Through STAMP, Johnny and Hansel provides:

  • Mentorship frameworks to support struggling learners
  • Peer-to-peer learning models embedded in class activities
  • Quarterly review templates for feedback and reflective teaching

We’re also hosting STAMP Bootcamps to upskill teachers on using data, fostering learner agency, and co-creating solutions for their unique classroom contexts.

Future-Ready, Data-Guided, Heart-Led

From storytelling to standardized assessment, and from digital learning to localized mentoring, Johnny and Hansel Publications is pushing the boundaries of what 21st-century education can be.

Our vision is bold:

  • Every student seen and supported
  • Every teacher equipped and empowered
  • Every story a spark toward lifelong learning
Because innovation must be inclusive. And the future of education starts with STAMP.

Let’s write the future together

Johnny and Hansel invites schools, LGUs, NGOs, and passionate educators to join us in piloting STAMP across classrooms nationwide.

A Patriot and Innovator in Basic Education: Marivic Carpio Bernido

Basic education in the Philippines has had an uneven trajectory in terms of quality over the years. While more Filipino children now attend school and participation has improved dramatically over the past half century, the quality of education has improved much more slowly as evidenced by large-scale international student assessment tests the country has participated in in recent years (PISA, [
